is part of the\ndevelopment of our culture, our personal lives and our roles in society;\naspects, whose influence &ndash; individually or globally &ndash; conforms each\nparticular <strong>language<\/strong>, as an instantiation of that ability.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"ls-slide\" data-ls=\"duration:15000;kenburnsscale:1.2;\"><p style=\"font-family:Lato;font-size:24px;line-height:42px;color:#383838;top:0px;left:0px;white-space:normal;\" class=\"ls-l ls-text-layer\" data-ls=\"offsetxin:80;offsetxout:-80;durationout:400;parallaxlevel:0;\"><strong>3\/5<\/strong><br><br>\nA scientific approach to Linguistics and History will remind us that no\nlanguage acquires importance because of what are assumed to be\npurely 'internal advantages', but because of the political, economic and\ntechnological consequences and effects it has undergone, together with\nits propagation through arts and sciences which, in turn, will reinforce its\nprestige.<br><br>\n\nThis is the case of <strong>English<\/strong>, which, both in number of speakers as well as in its uses for international communication or other less quantifiable measures,\nhas become one of the most important languages of the world and the\nlargest of the western ones.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"ls-slide\" data-ls=\"duration:15000;kenburnsscale:1.2;\"><p style=\"font-family:Lato;font-size:24px;line-height:42px;color:#383838;top:0px;left:0px;white-space:normal;\" class=\"ls-l ls-text-layer\" data-ls=\"offsetxin:80;offsetxout:-80;durationout:400;parallaxlevel:0;\"><strong>4\/5<\/strong><br><br>\nAlthough it may appear to be entering a period of decline as <strong>\"first\nlanguage\"<\/strong> or native spoken language for demographic reasons, its wide\nuse as <strong>\"second language\"<\/strong> and, what is more important, as <strong>lingua franca<\/strong> &ndash; common language used among diverse speakers to communicate &ndash; is unquestionable.<br><br>\n\nNot only is the size and mixed character of its vocabulary a cosmopolitan\ncharacteristic &ndash; Germanic structure, Latin etymology, unusual capacity and\nflexibility for assimilating linguistic borrowings &ndash;
